Campaign Sports was started way back in 2011 with the radical idea of providing college, high school and youth sports teams nationwide with an alternative fundraising option to traditional crowdfunding. The first person to take a chance on our platform was Head Coach Jeff Boyland of University of Central Oklahoma Volleyball. While their fundraising campaign ended up having a modest success (under $2,000 total), the precedence had been set and Campaign Sports was off and running.
This summer we will embark on a major transition to an exclusive digital fundraising platform. While our new format will consist of email, social media and mobile text for sponsorship solicitation, we reflect on our humble beginnings that centered on snail mail. Times have certainly required us to evolve in our execution, but we are proud of the “personal touch” our brochures displayed as we always felt necessary to show the importance of team pride in all its forms, even fundraising.
While snail mail will no longer be apart of our fundraising equation, the personal touch remains as we will continue to customize all email solicitations for student-athletes to their donor base going forward. We will also be able to significantly reduce our cost factor (Can you spare $2?)since we will no longer be needing to cover ever increasing printing & postage costs. Finally, our ability to stretch our fundraising reach to a much wider audience through social media should also result in much higher Return On Investment to all sports teams we work with going forward.
Campaign Sports would like to thank Coach Boyland and UCO Volleyball for helping jump start this incredible journey 8 years ago that will now continue with an even better fundraising platform for 1,000’s of sports teams nationwide. For those coaches, athletes, AD’s and boosters at all levels of athletic competition looking for an alternative to ‘traditional crowdfunding’ we hope you’ll consider giving Campaign Sports a try this summer of 2019 and beyond. Thank you!
